Dussehra 2022 : Today on the day of Dussehra, we are going to tell you the story of a wonderful temple in Chhattisgarh. A 700-year-old monastery is built just above the Kankali pond located in Brahmanpara of Chhattisgarh. This monastery was built by Naga Sadhus.

Dussehra 2022 It is situated between the dense forest and the cremation ground. They used to worship Kali Mata here. Due to the worship of Kali among the skeletons, this monastery was named Kankali Math.

Later the idol of the monastery was shifted to the new temple. This monastery is opened only on the day of Dussehra. During this, weapons are worshiped and kept for the devotees to see. After worshiping on the second day, the monastery is closed.

Dussehra 2022: Tomb of Sadhus is in Monastery

The tomb of the sadhus is built in the monastery. After the death of a Naga monk living in the monastery, his samadhi was made in the monastery. Their graves still remain in the old monastery. Weapons like sword, axe, spear, shield, knife and arrow have been kept in the Kankali Monastery located on the Kankali Talab, which is more than a thousand years old. They are cleaned on the day of Dussehra.

Naga Sadhus Used to do Tantric Vidhi

Presently the idol installed in the Kankali temple was earlier kept in the old monastery. Then Mahant Harbhushan Giri of Kankali Mai told that Naga Sadhus used to do Tantric worship in the middle of the cremation ground. Naga Sadhus came here from South India. Here monasteries were established. After the cremation of the dead bodies, their skeletons were immersed in the pond. Hence it was later renamed as Kankali Talab and Kankali Math.
