Dussehra 2022 : In the nine-day festival of Navratri, nine forms of Mother Durga are worshipped. The festival of Dussehra is celebrate on the tenth day after Shardiya Navratri. This year Dussehra is being celebrate on 5 October 2022.

On the day of Dussehra, the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu, the king of Lanka Ravana kill by Lord Rama, the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu. According to the scholars of astrologers, Dussehra worship is to done on Wednesday, October 5, in the coincidence of Dashami Tithi Vijay Muhurta, Lord Shri Ram, Vanaspati and weapons will be worship. Then after this the tradition of Ravana Dahan is play on the evening of Dussehra. In astrology, Vijayadashami is consider as Abuja Muhurta. That is, on this day all kinds of auspicious times is to done. This day, purchase of property, gold jewellery, car, motorcycle and all kinds of purchases done on Dussehra.

Dussehra 2022 : Vijayadashami Puja and Significance

– Dussehra festival is celebrates in the afternoon on the tenth day of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month. Aparajita Puja is perform in the afternoon. Aparajita have a special place on Vijayadashami.
– On Vijayadashami, after cleaning the eastern side of the house, apply sandalwood paste and make Ashtadal Chakra.
– After this take a pledge to worship Goddess Aparajita.
– Then worship Shodashopachara with the mantras Aparajitaya Namah, Jayayai Namah and Vijayayai Namah.
– On Vijayadashami, there is a law to worship the Shami tree and during the Vijay Muhurta there is a law to worship or perform auspicious work. It is believe that Lord Rama start the war in this Muhurta to kill Ravana.

– Then the worship of Ayudha (weapon) on Vijayadashami has special significance. On this day Kshatriyas, warriors and soldiers worship their weapons. Whereas Brahmins worship Goddess Saraswati on this day.
– Ramlila staging ends on this day. The festival of victory of truth over falsehood is celebrate by burning the effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakarna and Medhanath.

The effigy of Ravan Dahan is celebrate on Vijayadashami as a celebration of the victory of truth over untruth. According to the Puranas, Lord Rama started the war on Vijayadashami. Then On this date, Lord Rama performed Shastra Puja for the protection of Dharma and victory of Truth.
