Navratri 2022 : The festival of Navratri, which honours Maa Durga, began on September 26. Every goddess temple has a line of worshippers from morning until evening. Maa Mahamaya has been ornamented with 1.5 kilogrammes of gold jewellery in Raipur’s famous Maa Mahamaya temple, which is located in the Purani Basti.

80 Lakhs Jewels

Maa Mahamaya’s gold necklace measures one and a half feet in length and ten inches in width. According to estimates, the market price at the present time is approximately Rs 80 lakh. Four times a day during Navratri, the goddess is adorned.

Navratri 2022 More than 9,000 Manokamna Jyoti lit

150 Aajiwan Jyoti and 9332 Manokamna Jyoti have been lit in the Mata temple this Navratri. The Manokamna Jyoti has been lit by Chhattisgarh devotees living in the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Dubai and other countries.

Navratri 2022 : Temple has a 1400-year history

Maa Mahamaya Temple in Purani Basti is believed to have been around for 1400 years. Because of this, the temple still adheres to the old customs. This temple has a custom in which the main jyoti is lit by the spark produced when stone is rubbed together with Vedic chants.

The Haihayavanshi kings constructed 36 forts in Chhattisgarh, according to historical records, with temples dedicated to Maa Mahamaya at the entrance to each fort. In these Chhattisgarhs, Mata has a stronghold in the Mahamaya temple of Raipur, where Maa Mahamaya and Samleshwari Devi manifest as Mahalakshmi.

The priest of the temple, Pandit Manoj Shukla told that Maa Mahamaya Devi is seated here in the form of Maa Mahakali. Maa Samleswari Devi temple is present in the form of Maa Saraswati in front. In this way, Mahakali, Maa Saraswati, Maa Mahalakshmi, all three mothers are seated here in the form of direct evidence. The construction style of the sanctum sanctorum of the mother’s temple is of Tantric method. The dome of the mother’s temple is made in the shape of Shri Yantra.
